Playoff Predictions!
(Continued!!)
By Sherrick Baffert
Optimistic Guy

04/21/2007

Ok, so the playoffs already started, and we may have a slight advantage at picking the winners, but we had at it anyways.  But like always we had a slightly different take then Stephen A. Smith and  John Hollinger, because we know a little more about Wildcats then they do.

EASTERN CONFERENCE

The Boston Celtics vs.
The Atlanta Hawks Series...
aka the Upset.

This is the series that will be talked about for ages.  The Boston Three Party vs. Point Guard U.  Everyone predicts the blow outs until they see that Atlanta has been hiding a secret weapon all year round.  The Bibby/Salim backcourt duo evolves throughout the series and then catch fire in Game 3.  The Celtics take the first two in Boston, but then the two former Wildcats hit their stride on their home court. In the final four games, Mike Bibby averages 22 points and 11 assists, and Salim Stoudamire averages 35 points, while matching his senior year three point field goal percentage of 51.3%.  After losing game 6 and the series, the only words Kevin Garnett can muster is, "Where did the Salim come from?"

Salim Bibbys 4 - Celtics 2.

The Detroit Pistons vs.
The Philadelphia 76ers Series...
aka the Highlight Tape.

This series gets out of control from the get go.  The City of Detroit is in shock as the real A.I. shows up and just dominates.  Youtubers don't know if they should just put whole game footage up, as Iggy puts on video game performances each time he hits the court.  He flirts with a triple double the whole series and averages 6 ESPN Top Ten Plays of the Day per game.  By Game Four, the Pistons have all but given up and SportsCenter plays their Top Ten Plays of the Day segment and then add an Andre Iguodala's Top Ten Dunks of the Game segment directly aftre.  The world begins calling Iggy, "Top Ten" and the 76ers wait for their next opponent.

Iggy 4 - Pistons 0

The Toronto Raptors vs.
The Orlando Magic Series...
aka Who Cares?

Was going to draw out of a hat until I saw my Damon Stoudamire Raptors jersey from his Rookie of the Year season laying on the ground.

Lingering Damon Magic 4 - Magic 1

The Cleveland Cavaliers vs.
The Washington Wizards Series...
aka Agent Zero vs. The King.

The match up we have been waiting for all year has arrived.  Two of the games best go after it in a series of epic proportions.  The first four games end up in a two-two tie as Gil out does Lebron one night and Lebron does out Gil the next. The King takes Game 5 with a performance much like his during the Eastern Conference Finals of the Year before, and people think the Wizards are done.  Agent Zero then gets Jordaneque in Game 6 dropping sixty to silence the critics to set up a huge Game 7.  The final game goes just like the rest of series as the two giants get into a shootout.  Unfortunately for Bron Bron, it was Gil who comes out on top. Cleveland, fourth quarter, game tied, 5 seconds...Gil Grabs ball, guarded by James, 4... Gil waits, 3... Gil makes his move, 2... Gil steps back, 1... Gil for three!, 0's. Game Arenas.

Agent Zero 4 - The King 3

Stoops Quote of The Week

Coach Stoops on recruiting, "Obviously, Arizona State has turned into a J.C. and we are a four-year college. According to all the players, they say it is easier to go to school there, easier to get in. I thought we had the same requirements. It is news to me."  By easier to go to school there, do they mean the pay is better?

Stoops and staff have all their letter of intents in and the class of 2008 looks great. With five 4-Stars and twelve 3-Stars, and some sleeper 2-Stars thrown in, the 'Cats look to be in good shape in the future and present.
